Day 5: Stretch

Most people like to view themselves, or wish to view themselves as someone who is driven. They want to be someone who is concerned with being better and doing better; going harder, faster, stronger.

But unfortunately we tend to overlook the importance of stretching. We often forget the importance of EXPANDING not only our muscles, but our minds.

People who lift weights or hit the gym regularly, are usually concerned with the growth and development of their muscles. They are focused on how much more they can lift, or how much farther they can go.

We all do this to ourselves in our daily lives. Whether we are talking about the physical, mental, or even emotional side life.

We push ourselves to the limit by CRAMMING and LIFTING and PUSHING; but how often do we take the time to slowly, and often painfully, stretch ourselves?

Stretching is uncomfortable. It hurts.

But stretching is so incredibly good for you.

It allows your blood to move throughout your body.

It allows your muscles to elongate.

It centers you physically.

In tandem, stretching your mind and your heart is also going to be uncomfortable.

It's going to hurt.

It's not going to be simple or easy.

Learning something and obtaining a new skill feels AWESOME at first.

HARDER FASTER STRONGER!

But then we get stuck in a rut, and we forget to stretch. We push ourselves to the point of injury, and ultimately we're forced to give up.

When you're learning something new, you have to remember to stretch your mind. Take little while to be uncomfortable, to experience a little pain, and eventually your skill will develop and your mind will flourish.

I feel like we do the same thing when we're loving someone.

Whether this person is a friend, or a significant other, we often forget to take time to stretch with them.

Here we go again!

Loving them HARDER FASTER STRONGER.

Ask yourself- Have we taken time to stretch our relationship? To go through those slow and uncomfortable moments with each other? To take our time working through the pain so that we end up on the other side with an even deeper appreciation for one another?

Ladies and gentleman- I'm calling you (and most definitely myself) out to stretch more.

Stretch Physically

Stretch Mentally

Stretch Emotionally.

Let me know how much you grow after the pain.

I would love to get to know your heart and stretch together.

With Love Always,

Bailey
