The Dance

Running, running, running.

Faster, Faster, FASTER.

Trip.

Fall.

Get up.

Running, running, running.

Trip.

Fall,

Struggle to recover, eager to sprint.

You want to reach Him.

You want to be one with His heart.

You continue to fall and fall and fall and fall.

He bends down and grabs your face, laughing, not out of spite, but out of joy.

"Oh my daughter, why is it that you keep trying to run towards me at full speed when it keeps leading you to trip and fall? Stand up. Take my hand. Let's Dance."

You give Him your hand. You're completely unsure because you've spent so long using every ounce of breath you have to run to Him, but you keep running out of steam and finding yourself unable to keep up the pace.

You're worried you don't have the correct muscles to dance. You're worried you'll look awkward with Him so close to you, so integrated into your life. You're scared that maybe you'll enjoy dancing more than running. You're afraid that maybe this will make you feel beautiful for the first time. You're afraid of the unknown.

He pulls you closer, makes eye contact and says gently, "You have to let me lead."

For the first time you're unafraid.

For the first time you feel protected, safe, and at peace.

"Okay."

You begin to waltz.

You realize He has spent endless time crafting the perfect dance just for the two of you.

You realize that this is what it's all about- it's about your dance with Him.

You finally understand that there is nothing that matters more than this intimate, perfectly curated, totally simple, dance with the King.

You continue to dance with Him.

You get better and better until it's time to start moving with precision, until He calls you deeper into the dance with Him.

It will only continue to deepen, and deepen, and deepen.

To become more beautiful.

To evolve into an intentional and grace-filled existence.

Your dance with Jesus has only just begun, and you can't wait to see where He leads you.

With Love Always,

Bailey
