Day 14: Pray

Okay.

I will admit that I have been HARDCORE hesitating to write this particular post.

Not because I don't want to write it, but because it is probably the most important word to me on the list of 21 words, and I want to do it justice.

What does it mean to pray?

Well, the actual definition pray is:

pray

prā/

verb

  1. 1.

- address a solemn request or expression of thanks to a deity or other object of worship.

- wish or hope strongly for a particular outcome or situation

To me, prayer is so much more than addressing God for a solemn request or an expression of thanks. It's so much more than wishing or hoping strongly for something to happen.

To me, prayer is the most beautiful conversation one can have, with the most perfect partner.

I have mentioned in almost every one of my posts so far, the importance of intentionality and meaningfulness in your life, but especially in conversation. What is more intentional and meaningful than approaching the creator of the universe and having a conversation with him?

I am a Catholic woman who values prayer as an ESSENTIAL part of her day.

I take time, multiple times a day, to spend seconds to hours of time talking to my Lord and Savior.

I cannot imagine life without taking the time to have an intentional conversation between myself and God. Spending time meditating on the beauty of existence, or asking for guidance, or wishfully thinking about a person you care for, or literally ANYTHING else...these things are extremely important to think about and to focus on, and the most incredible person to share those thoughts with is Jesus.

The act of praying has LITERALLY changed my life.

It has allowed me to love more.

It has opened me up to new experiences.

It has helped me to see the joy and positvity in my life and the lives of others.

It has stopped me from taking my own life.

Multiple times.

Prayer has transformed me into the person I am today, and betters my heart and soul every time I make the sign of the cross.

I feel the best way to end a post about the word "pray", is to pray-

My Jesus,

Thank you so much for placing me where I am today. You have granted me the ability to write the words that are important to me, and to share them with the ones I love. Thank you for giving me a mouth to speak, ears to hear, hands to touch, and eyes to see. Thank you for blessing me with life-changing events that have led me to experience beauty, majesty, and glimpses of your perfection.

Thank you for giving me the ability to pray.

I pray that you teach me how to pray better every day.

My Jesus, I pray that you touch the life of every person that reads this post, and that you give them the graces they need to move into the light of truth and goodness.

Amen.

With Love Always,

Bailey
